All about Semadoh Tourist Complex - MahaEcoTourism

Again to a new jungle. This time we planned a trip to the dense forest of Melghat in Amravati district of Maharashtra. I am going to list some important information which is never published or which I never came across. A lot of this information will be available in different places online. I am just trying to cover most of them in one place. How to reach from Nagpur  Take Amravati road from Nagpur > From Amravati , take a right towards Paratwada> And from Paratwada there are two routes. One goes directly to Melghat or Semadoh which is a small village at the gate of Melghat. Other route goes through Chikaldara but you have to travel 25 -3 km more. So if you can take any route based on your destination (Melghat or Chikaldara) Semadoh Semadoh is a small village where the tiger reserve starts. There are good food options if you tell them in advance. You can buy basic daily needs from the shops present in here. Water bottles, Tea, Cigarettes all are available. Water cost

Kanha National Park

This time, the plan was to get out of Nagpur heat to some place livable. I wanted a place on the hills, but my friend was absolutely sure that the jungle could be the best destination. And he was right. At Kanha, the maximum day temperature could reach was around 30- 35 which was way better than Nagpur burning at 45 degrees (113 F). Some facts - Nearest City - Jabalpur (132) KM Nagpur - 280 KM Places to Stay - Many, We stayed at Muba Resort near to the Mukki gate. (http://mubaresorts.com/) How to go there from Nagpur - NAGPUR - BHANDARA - KOHAMARA (take right from here) - GONDIA - BALAGHAT - UKWA - BAIHAR - MUBA RESORTS The road last 4 km is fun to drive. By the look of the surroundings of this road we never expected the dense forest in next 3-4 km.  The Resort is built strategically at the edge of the reserve forest and you can expect to see some wild live from the resort itself. (If you are lucky).  For catching the glimpse of  wild cats though you have to

Pench National Park / Karmazari

I am so excited for last two days having completed much awaited trip to Pench National Park. This is the place where people claim that Rudyard Kipling created the character Mowgli from the famous "The Jungle Book". Not sure if he wrote the story sitting in the jungle. Being 70 km from Nagpur, this becomes a perfect destination for a weekend getaway from Nagpur. Now 70 km is the first gate to the tiger sanctuary which is the Maharashtra part of the jungle. The Madhya Pradesh side of the jungle is around 100 km from Nagpur. Some people prefer one state jungle to the other for various reasons. The important one is the cost. Maharashtra side is much cheaper to stay and to go safari than the MP side. Amlatas Eco Hut I stayed at the Maharashtra side of the forest and loved the experience. At Nagpur, my house is located at a forest area and I enjoy the peace and calm of the nature. So this was not a big deal for me. But for my friends, Pench was a perfect place to unwin

Kemmengundi

Kemmengundi - A known place to Bangalore people for planning a perfect weekend destination. Though not known to the rest of India. I am not sure how I end up at the places visited by less people and enjoy my time to the fullest. Kemmengundi is a small hill station near the Chikmagaluru  town and is around 250-270 kms from Bangalore. Route - Bangalore - Tumakuru - Tiptur - Arsikere - Ligadahalli - Kemmengundi I went there to relax and sit at the coffee plantation and look at the greenery. It was the perfect place to do nothing. And look what I found - A perfect chair to do nothing. If you notice, we have the arm rest on the chair which go forward and become the foot rest. So here I was most of the time at the resort. The resort was called Ozone Valley. It's a coffee plantation spread in acres of land. The rooms have basic amenities and are clean. The owner of the resort has kept a clean atmosphere for the guests. And yes there are only three rooms, so booking has to
